Often people, especially in good weather, spend most of their time on the balcony and terrace, so it is better if you spend more energy on planning this space and making it cozy. Here, we try to share some important issues from our experience.

At first, measure the summer area (length / width / height), and then start thinking about how to decorate it. In the m2 apartments, the balcony railings are everywhere 1.10 m high and the type of railing is maximally adapted to the safety of the children. In our projects, a lot of attention is paid to the location of the external boiler and air conditioning unit. In all apartments, this technical detail is built into a specially designed cabinet, which ensures its proper functioning, as well as the visual aspect.

Use materials that are more natural, wood, bamboo, rattan furniture, etc., as the summer space is associated with nature and the yard. That is why in m2 apartments we often use frost resistant wooden look ceramic-granite tiles on the floors.

Lighting - is the most important factor that can visually expand your space and create more coziness in the evening. Pay attention to the sockets and try to put furniture next to them in the future. You can use different types of light fixtures with the help of sockets. When planning projects, m2 necessarily takes into account one outdoor socket and a light fixture on the balcony of each apartment.

Cozy and comfortable environment -  in this case, you need to fully trust your taste. The main thing is to correctly determine the dimensions of the furniture you choose, so that it is not cramped. Also, pay attention to the material, because usually the balcony furniture breaks down before the internal furniture. Therefore, it is necessary to choose high quality and durable furniture, taking into account the external climate. For a small space, it is better to buy or make an armchair/sofa, which will have additional storage space. You can also use a table-transformer, which can be easily folded and unfolded.

Textiles and décor -  for more coziness it is advisable to use different textiles, wool, tapestries, flexible items, cushions and mats. Colours can be chosen and refreshed periodically by cushions. In addition to the visual side, give preference to waterproof fabrics that are designed for outdoor use. Textiles and décor are the part that completes and gives the final look to the design.

Planting - You will probably agree that without planting and plants, a balcony loses all its charm. Use plants of various shapes and sizes that can be hung from the ceiling or railing or simply put in a pot and place it. Be sure to consult with a florist and choose the right plants for sunny or less sunny areas.

On any size balcony and terrace, you can create a cozy and desirable atmosphere for yourself. What matters is not the space of the balcony but how well the space available is planned and thought out. Taking all of the above into consideration, you will achieve the desired result.
