Illumination is one of the most essential features of the interior, which makes it interesting, cosy, comfortable and special space.

In accordance with the applicable standard of m², I would like to provide some useful tips that will help you in the proper and effective arrangement of lighting points in the apartment:

• Depending on the size of the room, ceiling illumination may be divided into different zones.

• If there are multiple points in the entrance hall, it is preferable to use spot-like illumination to avoid overloading of the space

• In the common room, where kitchen and living room are arranged within the same space, it is more appropriate to install individual lighting and switch. In the kitchen area, so called track lighting is very popular, which allows you to give the light your favourable direction. In the living room, it is advisable to have lighting in the centre of the room. Moreover, the lighting above the dining table provides additional cosiness and comfortable environment.

• In the bedroom, at the bedside-tables, you can have drop ceiling lights or bedside-table lamps. Light should not be very strong in order to maintain calm and harmonious environment. So called track lighting and curtain drops lighting are extensively used and provide cosiness in the bedroom.

• Since we are mostly fresh up in the toilet, planning the lighting properly is essential. Heavy lighting on the ceiling is highly recommended. You need a lamp next to the mirror, also the mirror with lights is very common.
• In our complexes, we usually install balcony lights above the door, although light in the centre of the ceiling can be planned.

The correct arrangement of electrical points in the apartment is essential for comfortable life. By introducing applicable standards of m2 we aim to facilitate the planning process in the future:
• A door phone should be installed in the entrance hall next to the door as closely as possible and light switching electric box shall be installed in the entrance hall wardrobe or behind the entry door to make it less significant. It is important to determine in advance the need of the console in order to take into account a socket for its illumination.

• In our experience, we usually install sockets for kitchen appliances down, behind the kitchen cupboards to hide them, but at least two sockets are recommended on the kitchen work surface, depending on the size of the kitchen.

• Owing to the modern way of life, where technology is an integral part of our lives, the installation of sockets in every place where we often find ourselves – sofa, dining table, coffee table etc., is highly recommended. Moreover, if you are going to install a lamp/floor-lamp next to a sofa or coffee table, its electrical point should be specified in advance.

• Before specifying the point for TV set, it is necessary to decide in advance whether it should be put up or hang on the wall, according to which the respective height of points should be determined.

• In the bedroom, the position of bedside-table socket shall be determined in accordance with the size and style of the bed.

• For us the safety of our residents is crucial, so we install sockets and switches in the bathroom away from and above the washstand.

• In the case of balcony, outdoor socket shall be installed on the wall and at a height, where rain drops are less expected.
• The electric wiring for air conditioning in the apartment and boiler room as well as electrical points for heating boiler shall be determined in advance.
• When choosing the colour for electrical accessories, the colours represented in the interior should be taken into account, for example, if interior door is white or white accessories are represented in the bathroom, white switches and sockets will be highly recommended. If the doors, kitchen appliances and mixer taps are black, then black electrical accessories will be more appropriate.
• It is recommended to harmonize all lamps and electrical accessories with each other in accordance with the apartment design concept.
