Designing our home is a great challenge. Every apartment is special like our desires. Assess the potential of your home well and try to perceive the space precisely. m² has delivered about 3000 apartments. We decided to share our experience with you by presenting 5 tips that will make the process of designing the interior easier and pleasant.

1. Precisely Assess the Space

First, you have to evaluate the space by several criteria: a number of windows, natural lighting, ceiling height, and construction part – column and communication shafts, because it is impossible to alter or correct the construction part.

We take into account these criteria while designing the interior of m² apartments in order to create an ultimately favorable environment for our residents to work on the interior design of their homes.

2. Determine Your Priorities

Imagine what kind of apartment you desire; what you like the most!

Of course, we start anticipating the number of rooms. First, determine how many bedrooms you need. Do you want an isolated kitchen? Or maybe an open studio-style space would be more suitable for your lifestyle? If you have space but don’t see the necessity to have a second bedroom, you can arrange a study or a children’s room.

After you answer all these questions, you can think about the furniture and other appliances. For example, do you want a king-size bed or a smaller size one? Shower or a bathtub? If you decide all these in the beginning you won’t find determining the space difficult, because all furniture or appliances have standard sizes which you have to follow to avoid inconvenience.

3. Follow Standards and Sizes

There are internationally recognized sizes and standards which will make space distribution easier for you. We thoroughly take into account these details in m² apartments. Right now we will share some tips with you:

For example, the width of the hall should not be less than 1.10 meters, so it can be possible to take furniture and home devices inside without unnecessary complications. The distance between a TV and a couch should be determined from the start; this will help to determine the size of the TV.

Leave at least a 90X90 space section for a shower in the bathroom in order to use the shower comfortably and move freely.

In the kitchen space, try not to put the fridge and gas stove surfaces near each other; this will hinder the proper functioning of both appliances. Also, put the dishwasher near the sink; this way, it will be easier to put dishes in the dishwasher. Remember those kitchen drawers should be opening fully at 90 degrees in order to use all the space inside.

4. Room and Space Zoning

While designing the interior it is necessary to correctly zone to separate spaces with a different purpose and create more comfort. It is important for all rooms to have an individual entrance. Even if you chose to have a studio-style arrangement, you can separate living and kitchen zones from each other. If you decide to arrange your work desk in your bedroom, try to make working and resting spaces independent from each other. There are a lot of zoning methods in modern design; open shelves, real plants, lighting, wall colors, exceptional ceiling, glass partition, etc.

We often use floor zoning in our projects, for example, there are laminated flooring in a studio-style living room and ceramic tiles in the kitchen area.

5. Visualize Furniture Placement Beforehand

Interior design often requires making walls and a ceiling the main focus, however, we forget that after putting furniture, the interior ends up with completely different features. Visualizing furniture placement beforehand also helps us to purchase them later. It is principal to determine beforehand how we place the kitchen furniture and appliances; also it is important to choose the location of a dinner table and a number of chairs beforehand; do you want 4 or 6? Do you prefer a corner couch or a three-piece? Will the TV set hang or stand? Consider these details beforehand to know what else you have the space left for.

We often take into consideration only a square shape which is a wrong approach. We should recognize the shape of the room, measurements and adapt the interior to a natural lighting source. If we determine our priorities and correctly assess space, we will be able to get exactly what we want from our apartment.

The main priority of m² complex constructions at every stage in the comfort of our residents. That is why every above-mentioned detail is considered in our apartments; construction parts and natural lighting, room zoning, individual heating, and cooling or electric schemes are precisely determined and the space for designing a dream home is created.
